Friendship can do wonderful things 2 u...

This post is coming on Friendship Day and is dedicated 2 all my frenz.

Friendship is the best gift you give yourself. This is a quote that I had memorised as a child to say in the school assembly. I din't, at that time, understand the significance of this simple but powerful statement. I do now.

Friendship is the one thing in the world that can make you feel complete and content even in the most trying times of your life. Its true that your family is the one who cares for you the most. They are the ones who will be the first ones to come to your aid in your dire needs. But if hadled with care and respect, your friends can become your family too. The trick is to stay in touch, show that u care, be a gud listener n d likes..nt d easiest things 2 do..even though they seem 2 b so..bt trust me..many a friendships have been lost by people's thoughtlesness n laid back attitudes. N never ever take ur frenz 4 granted!!..dat will b like digging ur frenship's grave!

I met my frenz 2day after a couple of months..n i felt soo alive all of a sudden!..just discussing each others' problems, catching up on wat's new,sharing experiences and ofcourse, gossipping can have such a therapeutic effect on your sagging morales. When u are with frenz, there is so much of positive energy around dat u end up feeling rejuvenised!

I loved meeting my frenz..even if its just 2 hv a cup of coffee. There's always soo much 2 talk about!..soo much 2 discuss, soo much 2 share..our talks never end!!
My ideal life wud b 2 work hard all thru d week and then spend 1 day of the weekend with my frenz and 1 day with my family. Aahh..what a blissful life that wud b.. :)

Romance of Cotton

Dear Diary,

Some days back, I went 2 Romance of Cotton. No no…it wasn’t a romantic, theatrical play or a painting exhibition. It was an exhibition and celebration of the elegance, sensuality and grandeur of cotton as a fashionable garment. Creating mystifying charm was the venue with its all-white decor and candles on each table- it was the perfect ambience with some great music.

Organised by Cotton Council International, it was a proper Page 3 party…what with top models splurging on wine and then bending their backs to walk on d ramp and other celebrities from different walks of life all interacting under the same roof. Like all other typical page 3 parties, this one dindn’t begin on time either!!

As I said, the models could all be seen having glass after glass of their favorite wines. And yet, when they stepped onto the ramp…they all looked so beautiful, graceful and confident!. I guess having so much alcohol peps up your confidence levels..hhmm..Now I know what to do before I go for any of my meetings!!:)

But the star of the evening weren’t the tall and thin models. The magnificent creations by Meera and Muzzaffar Ali were the star of the show. They really brought out the fashion element of cotton very effectively. I’ll be honest and confess that before that night, I honestly believed cotton to be a very cool, comfortable but very non-fashionable wear..but I have converted now…m now a believer!!

The guests of the evening were an amalgamation from the fashion and textile industries. And the who’s who of the fashion industry were seen sharing a drink or two with the who’s who of the textile industry. Hence, Mr. RCM Reddy could be seen laughing and sharing a joke with Ms. Lushin Dubey and Mr. Sharad Jaipuria could be seen conversing with model Indrani Dasgupta. And it was fitting also, for both these industries need each another to survive. Also present in large numbers were the commercial attaches from various embassies.

When such a powerful gathering is present under one roof, could the media be behind? They were present in large numbers and gave a suitable coverage to the event in their newspapers/magazines/ news channels the following week, Seen giving quotes after quotes to the media were our very own "in-house bachelor", AVP-Technopak and Representative CCI-Mr. Ashish Dhir. Backing him up was CCI’s "Punjabi By Nature loving" Sr. Manager Ms. Agneishka Fijol, whose impressive back was nicely clicked and showcased by Delhi Times the next day.

Speaking of Delhi Times, the good amount of media coverage that this high profile event generated has been quite substantial. I am sure that CCI has struck gold and have found a good way of reaching out to the consumers-which was actually what this event was all about. M sure that we will see more of such parties in future. I personally am ready for one any time!!Chalo dear diary. That’s all for my update on the cotton party for now. Some pics are given above for rememberance.

An auto date with death..almost..

P.S: he also reprimanded us for sitting with r feet up!!...n v laughed about it!..v even laughed about the scary ride...v were both soo tired dat d thoght of asking d driver 2 slow down just din't occur 2 us...me n krithika wud just luk at each other n start laughing!!..girls!!..i tell u...all v ever do is 2 laugh!!..haha!!:P

An auto date with death..almost..

It happened that eventful nyte...I had gone 2 to Oberoi Mall in Goregaon, Mumbai 2 watch a nyte show of Get Smart(luvd itt!!) with a couple of frenz..so while 1 of my frenz tuk an auto 2 Vile Parle(Parla as d locals call it), me n my fren Krithika hired an auto from Goregaon to Powai. For us it was a nice n pleasant end to a hectic n fun filled day...little did v know of what lay ahead of us...That nyte v discovered that there was an adventurous streak in r auto driver n it was 2 awaken n take a full fledged form dat nyte!!
We got into the auto chatting about the movie n d stuff in general...thinking of how tiring the day had been..n longing for the comfortable beds awaiting us at Krithika's apartment...bt the auto driver decided to give us an exciting journey...he drove not only at break neck speed, he also managed to take d auto over all d potholes on the road...m sure he din't miss ne1 of them...i perfectly recall my shouts of "ouch" everytime d auto went over a pothole as my whole body received the jerks!!..bt there was more to cum...in the middle of the way...as v were waiting for d signal 2 turn green...d driver decided that he was underdressed for the journey...so decided 2 prep it up by wearing a hat!!!...n dat 2 d kind dat u wud find on 1 year olds' heads...it was white with a teddy bear embroidery in front...choo chweet!!...n then in dat kiddy hat...d devil i him awoke n d ride turned deadly!!!...he drove d auto like he was a man possessed...probably he was on a suicidal mission..n thot v were not worthy of living nemore either...so decided 2 take us 2 hell along with him!!!
Atleast on three occassions did a vehicle cum soo close 2 r auto dat v startd praying 4 r lives...he was driving like a maniac...he wud give no considerations 2 other vehicles' indicators...wud cut n drive n even try 2 squeeze in between 2 moving buses!!
To say dat v were scared for r lives wud b an understatement...bt at one time...ds driver decided that he wanted 2 cross a busy intersection without giving any chance whatsoever to any vehicle coming from any side of the road..he just decided 2 increase his speed at the intersection instead of slowing down...and this tempo coming from the left almost hit r auto!!!...almost!!..it was inches from us when r auto managed 2 rush past it!!..phew!!...it was such a close shave!!...i had my hands over my head out of fear!!
Don't b mistaken to think of it as a one off incident...there were others 2..not as bad as this 1 bt not much better either.
Sitting in an auto in mumbai n travelling via blueline bus in delhi are equally bad...both give u d rides of ur life...i almost stopped feeling sorry for not going 2 Essel world...this auto ride gave me all d thrills n more that an amusement park's ride cud ever give..m just glad i lived 2 tell d tale. :D

Awesum Mausam!!!

Awesum mausam!!...This phrase is becuming so popular in my office...n its coz d mausum is actually sooo awesum these days!!...aaahhh...d rains...d wonderful wonderful rains!!...the sweltering heat has given way 2 an amazingly romantic and happy weather and m just so excited abt it!!...cuming 2 office has becum a little more difficult, what with the rush of hordes of people wanting 2 cuming 2 gurgaon n d keechad!!...bt still...it has becum 100times more bearable!!... can even stand d keechad coz ths weather makes me sooo happy!...i don't know why..but wenever it rains i feel so happy...always have a smile on my otherwise tense n frowning face!!...n i sing all d tyme!..atleast try 2!! :D n i feel a mixed gamut of emotions-like i want 2 curl up on a giant sofa n sip hot coffee or read a buk...and at d same time i can feel like my heart's doing d salsa!!...D rain turns me into a female peacock i gues!!:D
Now..gota get bak 2 wrk...watch ds space 4 more!!
